IEM History

History

A.D 1963

The 3-year Industrial Engineering Program was set up and  recruited high school graduates or equivalent.

A.D 1965

The Division of Industrial Engineering was established in August, and the 2-year Industrial Engineering Program was also available.

A.D 1967

The 3-year night school was available; the length of study is 4 years.

A.D1977

       Based on the Government’s adult education policy, the Industrial Engineering Department set up the 2-year continuing education program.

A.D1981

The School was reorganized into “National Taipei Institute of Technology”.

A.D1986

One more class was available for the 2-year Industrial Engineering Program.

A.D1987

“Division of Industrial Engineering” was renamed “Division of Industrial Engineering and Management”.

A.D1988

Set up the 5-year Industrial Engineering and Management Program.

A.D1994

The School was reorganized into National Taipei Institute of Technology. “Division of Industrial Engineering and Technology” was renamed “Department of Industrial Engineering and Management”. In the meantime, both the 2-year and 3-year programs were closed. The Department recruited the 4-year and 2-year college students. For nurturing professionals in engineering and management, the Department set up both Engineering Section and Management Section.

A.D1996

To meet the demands of national development, the 2-year in-service program became available with 3-year study length.

A.D1997

The School was reorganized into National Taipei University of Technology. The Graduate School of Production Systems Engineering and Management was also set up.

A.D1998

“Department of Industry Engineering and Technology” was renamed “Department of Industry Engineering and Management”.

A.D1999

The “In-service Graduate School of Production Systems Engineering and Management” was available.

A.D2003

The Department was officially named “Department of Industrial Engineering and Management”; in the meantime, based on the merging policy, Graduate School of Production Systems Engineering and Management merged with the Industrial Engineering and Management Master’s Program in the Department.

A.D2006

 “In-service Master’s Program of Industrial Engineering and Management” was renamed “EMBA Master’s Program of Industrial Engineering and Management”.

A.D2008

The PhD Program became avaiable.

A.D2016

Established division of continuing education Four Year Program class.

A.D2020

Executive MBA Program of Industrial and Technology Management, College of Management.
